Raising Kids in the Outdoors and taking them along on your adventures!

Hunting is an incredible way to connect with family! No matter the season—be it summer or winter—there are always exciting activities to dive into the great outdoors, strengthen family bonds, and nurture the next generation in God's country. We were born to embrace the wild, learn from our adventures, create unforgettable memories, and savor the harvest. Our top picks for the year are: spring fishing and turkey. Summer brings antelope and fishing. In the fall, it's all about elk, mule deer, and whitetail. Winter is perfect for coyotes, whitetail, and birds like the Sandhill crane. Don't hesitate to reach out for our favorite outfitter recommendations. Plus, check out our list of tried-and-true gear brands that we trust in the field!

  • Axis Works LLC - Rifles, they make incredible custom rifles. This is our absolute favorite option; you can customize every piece of your gun and make it one unstoppable machine in the field.

  • Prois hunting gear - made for women, by women. I have loved their gear for the past 7 years. The comfort, style, and options have outfitted us in all conditions.

  • Trijicon Optics - We have the Tenmile scope and the AccuPoint as our top 2 optics for hunting and NRL matches. The clarity on the glass in all weather has helped us drastically make some tough shots and extended the light, which increased our time to hunt.

  • PhoneSkope/Pyro Putty - We have used their products for over 8 years. Always in our packs, and we have filmed so many kill shots with our PhoneSkope. We have had several situations where we have needed fires, and Pyro Putty has been there to help us in the toughest conditions.

  • BTI (Atlas Bipods) - We love these bipods, small and lightweight; they have never broken on us and have been very dependable through drops and spills and everything in between.

What is the best outdoor activity for an 8 to 10 year old?

Children between 8 and 10 years old are at a great age to engage in more structured and adventurous outdoor activities. Here are some excellent options:

  • Geocaching: This modern treasure hunt uses GPS devices or smartphones to find hidden containers. It combines technology with outdoor exploration.

  • Nature scavenger hunts: Create a list of items to find, such as specific leaves, rocks, or insects. This encourages observation skills.

  • Obstacle courses: Set up a course in your backyard or park using cones, ropes, and other objects to climb over or crawl under.

  • Camping: Even a backyard campout can be thrilling, teaching kids about setting up tents and outdoor safety.

  • Helping with the pack out, and field dressing of your harvest: This teaches them our heritage and history of hunting and why we do it! Seeing us do the work and bring it home, then enjoying it along the way is the best way to raise them.

These activities are fun and help develop physical skills, problem-solving, and teamwork
